It seems to me one son is Louis. The other seems to be Isidore, which I
think it’s a female name. However, the name is listed as ‘son’.
As to Paul’s brother, I really don’t know if it’s “Frank” or “Harry” or
any other.
I’d love to hear from you about this.

Subject: Surname, mother tongue and place of birth in Census sheet

Hi,

I would like to know what’s the surname for Michael (1st line). All I
can read is that it starts with “B” and ends with “ko”.
Also, the place of origin and mother tongue seems to be “Ruthenian”,
then there are two letters (OL ?) and in the line below it seems
“Ukrainian”.
Ruthenian would make sense, because they were born in Galicia, but I
don’t see why Ukrainian.
As to ‘OL’ coud it stand for “old language”?
